View Full Version : Level Skipping?

Just for fun.
I recently caught on that with the combination of Magical Training, Precocious Apprentice, Heighten Spell, and Earth Spell, a character can enter the Sublime Chord PrC with an arcane caster level of 1 and gain 4th and 5th level spell slots without ever gaining a 1st or 3rd level slot.
This also leads to the ridiculous situation of crafting Scrolls and Magic Items of 5th level spells with a CL of 2 or, arguably, even 1, and a cost of less than a quarter of what it should be.
Are there any other similar situations where a character can skip over spell levels entirely?
Obviously nothing here should ever see the light of day in an actual game, so unlimited shenanigans are allowed.

Nar Demonbinder can lead to weird situations where a PC who started as a Cleric can cast high-level arcane spells spells, but not low-level ones. Even worse, if you lose your Cleric casting you don't lose PrC access as it grants lv4 spells too, so you can end up with a PC who can cast level 4-8 spells and nothing else.
Another example : Paladin enters Nar Demonbinder, falls immediately.

The same crafting issues that you mentioned can apply here.

Similarly hilarious and has the benefit of not saddling the character with a pile of crappy feats.
