Hi there, I have been wanting an OOTS tattoo for a while but cannot decide! Show me what you'd get and it might help me out! :D

Panels 7-12 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0395.html)

If you want a serious answer, I'd go for either O-Chul's smite evil-on a stick-pose or MitD.

I'd just get a single person, like O-Chul in a bad ass stance or Belkar smiling and jumping and dagger waving...

But just out of curiosity... Would one need the Word of God (aka permission from Mr Burlew) to get an OotS tattoo?

Good question, how do I talk to god himself?

Belkar in his last panel (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0922.html).

Tattoos would fall under some kind of unlicensed use of an IP (ie you shouldn't be doing them). The thing is, how, exactly, does one police it?

Yes for an intensely personal thing you really want other people's opinions?

I totally want other peoples opinions! I have some tattoos already that I love and have some ideas for order of the stick tattoos which are mostly how panel walking shoots of the group or Belkar's famous sexy shoeless god of war panel, but it never hurts to see what other people would consider!

Another great pose would be Darthsuvius directly after their ascension to power. Laughing with sharp teeth and a lot of arcane mystery...

Edit : after seeing it (#635, btw) it wouldn't be that great. A lot of dark colors that would be really hard to distinguish from one another..

I would look at the cafepress stuff since that has been designed to be added onto a small area, should be more applicable as a tattoo.

Good question, how do I talk to god himself?I'd recommend contacting him on Twitter (https://twitter.com/RichBurlew). You can also send him a PM here in the Playground (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=14856). From my (admittedly limited) experience, I think Twitter's your best bet.

That's what I was going to suggest too.

Probably good to ask first. It's definitely an unlicensed derivative work (a copyright violation), but quite possibly also would qualify for a fair use exemption (nb: I'm not a lawyer). There's a bunch of cases about tattoos being used in other media without the tattoo artist's permission, but I don't recall any going the other way (which is not to say they don't exist). I don't imagine you'd be likely to get sued, but still better to check first.

In any event, pick some badass moment from your favorite character. Maybe start here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Awesome/TheOrderOfTheStick

My understanding of copyright law is that unless the use is harming Rich's work or someone is profiting monetarily from it, it's pretty much okay. Getting a superhero logo you bring in to be tattooed is fine, but a tattoo artist advertising it in their book to increase traffic would not. At least my layman's understanding. Wouldn't hurt to get Rich's permission of course.
