Cool Rogue or Cool Monster Hunter Ranger??

I'll be playing dungeon of the mad mage sunday, and I just wanted everyone's opinion.

What do you guys think would be more fun/cooler? My group has a barbarian and a fighter so far, and I'm playing a druid in another game I'm not feelin another support character. I have already made the "person" and he's a half elf. Also rogue and ranger both seem like alot of fun and I've been wanting to try them both. My cousin may join as a support caster soon anyhow.

As a half elf I would go swashbuckler rogue, put the bonus charisma to good use.

Might consider a hexblade dip and make a charisma based swashbuckler with medium armor and a shield.

Monster hunter ranger is a great subclass and is very versatile but comes online a little late for me.

It also depends on if you wanted to be ranged or melee, if ranged don’t bother with the swashbuckler.
