I allowed one of my players to play a warforged despite them not being a part of my setting if he'd figure out the details.

He decided he was the prototype for a sort of super-soldier. His story is that many different specialists put aside their differences and tried to create something together, and created Robocop. He eventually learned to override his 'programming' and ran away. He didn't want this faction to be a part of the story, and that he'd traveled very far to make sure they'd never find him.

Problem is, I need a name. What would this sort of group call themselves, a collection of specialists from all sorts of profession with the goal of creating Robocops?

The Most Prestigious and Secretive Order of Arcanists, Smiths, and Martial Adepts for the Promotion of Excellence in Innovation.

Or “The Order”, for short.

The Iron Fist?

Or the Iron Smiths if wanting something slightly more subtle. It's simultaneously threatening and open to gags where confused listeners mistake the group for mundane what-the-heck-else-would-you-be-smithing smiths.

Rulers' Refinery, if the countries themselves backed the research.

Alternatively, the identity would be placed around the project rather than the team involved. Project manhunter, the enforcement project, etc

Give them a sigil that is unpronounceable (and is branded onto the warforged's butt). No need to have a Common name.

He's from crashed spelljammer ship, or he entered a one way portal, or bargained with world hopping entity so he's literally worlds away from his creators.

Every one of the following can also double as a band name for the bards playing at the tavern:

The Ferrous Legion

The Clockwork Conquest

The Silicon Shamans

The Transresistors

Those What Play At God

The Arcadian Institute for Advanced Life Studies

Bob, of the Builders

I don't have any specific suggestions, because my brain is tired, but you could consider adapting or just plain using the name of a real-life masonic or similar order/society.

Add in words like Brethren, Fraternal Order, or somesuch, and you're good to go!
