If a barbarian enters a new rage while he is raging do the rages stack on top of each other or would his current rage just be reset? I think the rage would be reset because wildshape resets rather than stacking when it is used more than once. I believe this to be the case because if wildshape were allowed to stack 20 level druids would indeed have unlimited hp which is to insane to be accurate.

It says 'while raging' on it, so its more a case of an on off thing rather than stackable.

Nothing in the rage feature excludes you from rentering a rage while it is active.

Based on Jeremy's definition. Its probably stackable. But the effects likely dont stack(so for instance you couldn't stack rage damage) since the rage features share the same name and give the same abilities. It's the same reason why the extra attack feature doesnt give you more than one extra attack when you got the feature teice.

Pretty much. It would act like a reset of rage the same way casting a buff twice will just restart the duration.

No, it doesn't stack. DMG 252, "Combining Game Effects:" features of the same name ("Rage" is a feature) don't stack. You just get the benefits of the more potent one while the durations overlap. It's in the DMG errata if you have a really old DMG; the subsection is missing in the oldest printings.

More entertaining, I once did a detailed analysis of all of the rage benefits and found that there's exactly one and only one PHB benefit which is phrased in a way which permits it to stack: the Barb/6 Bear Totem increase to carrying capacity. Everything else is either binary (you have the benefit "while raging"), or runs into an explicit "no stacking" rule (advantage/disadvantage, resistance), or is limited by action economy (frenzy barbarian's extra attack). In other words, even if you could stack Rages, it would be almost useless to do so.
