View Full Version : Teleportation to my stronghold.

I like having a base throughout my adventure, something that I can really call my own and invest in. However adventuring can take you far afield, so I'd need a way to instantly transport to my stronghold.

I was thinking about 2 scrolls of magic circle and permanency, but the caster requirement for permanency on teleportation circle is too great. (17, I'm level 6)

Any ideas?

Well you make the roll to use the scroll then the 5th level teleport with a d100% roll you get 900 miles.

So long as you have walked or scene the surrounding villages your fine. How often at 6th level do you get over 900 miles from where you want to be. 20 miles per day walking or horse back your 45 days away. How often does that happen?

My 11th level wizard is rarely more than 2,200 miles from any single point. She has been before.

Can that be made permanent? Can it be used to go back and forth between 2 locations reliably?

Note some DM will lower the numbers and give you a chance for a moving target (ship on water, or detailed description of area)

This is a standard 5th level wizard spell in the book I used pathfinder numbers for the roll.

Teleport is the name of the spell.

That is a higher level spell then I suggested it takes an 11th level caster.

Mine requires a 9th. Easier roll to make off scroll.

Frankly, at that point, it's better to discuss these plans with your GM than with the Playground.

Boots of Teleportation are 49k market; gives you a 3/day teleport. You might be able to sweet-talk your DM into getting a less expensive version on 1/day, but do be warned: Off-target happens, and if you can only teleport 1/day, you're rather stuck.

Oh 100% agreed, but I'd like to have a game plan and a few backup avenues to present by the time I show up for the game. Concept drafts if you would.

should be craft wondrous item for most boots unless I'm mistaken

Craft Wondrous Item, faster level 9,and and Teleport. It's a core item.
