My drood got his lvl 3 spells tonight.

Apparently, "Conjure Animals" is a DM's nightmare. Empowered by Beast Shape. 3 Dire Wolves.

First time summoning, I seriously rolled 3 natural 20's.

Me and my boys!!!!!... Rawr!

(we were all gobsmacked, in 25 ish years, we've never seen 3 before)

My next character will be a ranger/druid MC for this exact reason

Level 3 spells are powerful.

Conjure Animals is one of the good ones. A major drawback is that it is concentration and if you have shape-shifted into a wolf then your AC is low.

I would only call it a nightmare if you summon many creatures as it slows combat. The rule at our table is only up to 2 creatures at once to keep things moving.

For that very reason our table happily hijack'd TheAngryDM's (?) Paragon creatures concept. At the very least it saves time on the positioning.

...What did you roll the 20s on? There's no die roll involved in summoning.

Or do you mean that's what you got on the first three attack rolls?

First time I Conjured Animals. (2 Dire Wolves) Wild Shaped into a Dire Wolf as well. 3x 20's on my first attack rolls. Party was split, decimated my opponent. (couple of rounds later I got snake eyes on 2d20, so it all pans out..... :) )
