Reading the scroll scribing section and the buying magic items in XGtE I just realized for most of the spell levels it’s actually cheaper to buy the scroll than to scribe it.
Anyone find this odd? I know it’s not guaranteed that it’s available when you’re buying. However, I am finding it hard to rationalize the fact that there is a market where it costs more to produce the spell scrolls than you can sell it for.
What are people’s thoughts on this? Should I cut the cost of scribing scrolls?
Edit: Just read the potion of healing section and the costs to brew these potions is way cheaper than the cost to buy it. So odd.
2nd edit: Looks like if I halved the cost of the published cost to scribe the scrolls from spell levels 2+, it looks like it would fix it.
