Forest Trolls (MMIII) have an interesting (ex) Special Attack. They have a poison that they apparently make from their saliva and can use to coat their weapons and claws. The poison clearly has a step between being saliva and an actual poison, because their bite attack doesn’t have the poison.
For a DM, this isn’t a huge deal, you just assume that they pre-poisoned their weapon and run the encounter.
For a PC trying to use a Forest Troll as a Polymorph form however, it’s a bit more confusing.
How would you guys handle it? The poison is listed under their Special Attacks, so Polymorph should give it to you, but also there are no explicit rules on converting their saliva to said poison.
Bonus Question: If a PC can make the troll poison and apply it to weapons, would it last longer than the duration of the polymorph form? Could you apply the poison to your party’s weapons in the morning while in troll form and then they have it until they hit with that weapon?
