Greetings, all!

What does the RAW say (and from where) regarding 4-handing a weapon? I want to know the STR bonus (normally 1.5x for 2-handing) for 4-handing such a weapon like a polearm or spiked chain.

To the best of my knowledge there is no rule regarding this.

In Savage Species (page 42), there is a rule regarding using a specially modified weapon to benefit from wielding it with more than two hands. Each hand beyond the first adds 1/2 times the wielders Str bonus. The modified weapon weapon costs as much as a masterwork version (and gets the usual masterwork benefits as well).

Be aware it references 3.0 "weapon size" rules, but it still works.

Fun fact: the weapon with the highest number of limbs required to be used is the eight-hand footbow, which requires eight hands and two feet, for a total of ten limbs.

Hmmm... Suddenly I can feel a campaign setting taking form. Giant insects used as machines of war. Knights in carapace armor riding giant spiders, jousting with acid spitting lances. Human cities built like termite dens, towering into the sky.

The real question is whether you get x4 returns on your Power Attack when holding a weapon with four hands.

Sadly, since nothing is mentioned, you get nothing extra.

For good reason, too. Imagine the silliness of anthro-squids doing full Power Attack at level 20 for +160 to each hit. 320 for Frenzied Berserker squids...
