Persist Spell question

I have spells with a range of Short (25ft+ etc. etc.) that I want to persist on myself. Is the occular spell metamagic feat the only way to make them qualify or is there another way to do it?


We can persist range: touch spells at our table so changing it to touch would be sufficient.
