Any suggestions for music to put on IRL when a party is resting and a bard is using Song of Rest?

Depends on your bard's style, but a good song would be Blood of Heroes, by Megadeth.

The obvious answer is any lullaby.

Rock and Roll Lullaby - B.J. Thomas
Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics
The Lion Sleeps Tonight - The Tokens
Dream On - Aerosmith
Enter Sandman - Metallica
Dream Weaver - Gary Wright
Dream a Little Dream of Me - k.d. lang, Tony Bennett
Who Needs Sleep - Bare Naked Ladies

The Shire Theme from Lord of the Rings has a good vibe to it. If you're trying to be funnier, maybe a lullaby.

Song of rest heals you, and raises your spirits! Plus, you know, this is created by a bard.

Upbeat Inspirational Song About Life- Michael Bolton
Rise up- B.E.R.
Africa- Toto

and when they least expect it- just before the boss fight when they're taking their last short rest-
Never Gonna Give You Up- Rick Astley.

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

(What? It fits thematically. :smalltongue:)

Anything from Pink Floyd's The Endless River. Be careful with music during gameplay unless during short rests folks get a drink, go to the rest room or whatever. If your group is like mine, some will go pee, others smoke, two folks sit around and chat.

Songs with words in particular compete with your party mate's minds for attention when the DM is talking and can be annoying if the game is going on.

Home for a Rest - Spirit of the West Nice one.
Also, anything by Enya.

The last cut on the ZZ Top album Tejas
"Asleep in the Desert"

(It's a lovely Billy Gibbons instrumental)

Funny factor only:
Endless Dream by God Is an Astronaut
If it's been a while since their last rest or a party member is on low HP: Handel's Hallelujah chorus

Funny and thematically appropriate:
Sleeping Beauty Waltz by Tchaikovsky (it will sound familiar after a bit if you've seen the Disney movie :smallwink:)

Thematically appropriate:
Nocturne no. 2 by Chopin

Hope this helps!

Google "Weightless" by Marconi Union. Its apparently been scientifically proven the most relaxing music.

If there's even a slight hint of Nordic culture in your game I'd like to recommend Heilung. Their music is incredible and they are playing on bones and traditional stuff. Amazing to watch.

Watching them makes me want to scrap my current game in favor of a Viking inspired one.
