I知 looking for ideas for a humorous golgari character that has gators as pets. Possibly undead Gators. Poison spitting Gators. What ideas would the play ground suggest. What races and class?

Mechanically what can alligators do well?

I知 a Gator fan myself. So as long as your character name is Albert, Alberta, 2 Bits, Steve, or Spurrier...I think you will have done well. Lol. But as for race? I壇 say Firbolg is actually one you could consider depending on how you flavor him. :)

Kind of a shame the Lizardfolk of Ravnica are of a desert-dwelling species and don't fit in with the Golgari or their sewer-dwelling ways.

A Beastmaster ranger using the new UA ranger rules would work well: their new pets are intentionally vaguely defines and can be described as anything you like, gators included. A shepherd druid makes great use of Conjure Animals.
