Designed to be the follow-on to any successful campaign where your players have reached a high level and are looking at doing something new.

The world is a lousy place and getting lousier. The weather is bad, crops are failing, people and creatures are disappearing, pestilence is stalking the land, and no one know why. Well, someone knows why. And she has assembled powerful characters to prevent the destruction of the world. Because another world is draining the essence from this one through the use of magic. Not deliberate-we're-destroying-your-world-and-we're-okay-with-that magic, just general magic. Every fireball drains a little bit. Every summoned creature is drawn from the world. Every bit of good fortune granted to a character in the other world results in bad luck in this one. The person who discovered this has a way to get the players into the other world. They'll have to inhabit the bodies of people in the new world.

The players start out with a random character. They've got all sorts of old knowledge but they're in a completely new world and in bodies that may not be capable of doing what they want. They might not even start out in close proximity to each other. And how are they going to stop people from using this new source of magic power that is far superior to the older forms?
