Enchanting ammunition with weapon enhancements

Can you apply any weapon enchantment onto ammunition? Can someone direct me to rules text that explicitly allows this?

Bane arrows are explicitly allowed on ammo, but other weapon special abilities come from the projection weapon.

If I recall correctly, it is 20 arrows or 50 bullets.
For other types of ammunition, a proper comparison needs to be made.

It's 50 regardless of ammo type; arrow, bolts, sling bullets, even shuriken.

The tables can generate ammuntition with any of the ranged weapon abilities. Unless one of the entries explicitly forbids applying it to ammunition, any of them can be applied to ammunition in batches of 50.

If you're playing 3.5, it's on page 222 (Table 7-9, note 1: This [base] price is for 50 arrows, crossbow bolts, or sling bullets.) For Pathfinder, it's the same, except it's on page 468 (Table 15-8, note 1).
