The anagakok is a fairly obscure variant wizard from Dragon 344. It’s intended to represent a wizardlike caster from tribal societies, but instead of specializing in one of the traditional eight schools of magic, it has its own “anagakok school” of survival and utility spells drawn from the druid/ranger list.
It also has a couple other weird features, including the ability to spontaneously cast endure elements, and “good fortune points” which can be added to any roll of the dice. It’s not clear whether the anagakok also gains a familiar, and overall it seems a little subpar.
That said, how could this be adapted to Pathfinder, perhaps with a little upgrade in the process? What spells from Pathfinder would be especially useful for wilderness survival? And is there some other mechanic for spiritual favor that could be used in place of the clunky fortune-points feature?
