When to Double Post

Say I post writing on the forums, and want to ping people who've subscribed to the page with a new post, but to do so I would have to double post. Would that be excusable, or is it still a no go?

If what you're posting isn't generating enough discussion to prevent you from double posting, it isn't really discussion suitable for this discussion forum. I'd suggest a blog or something.
