What would they do if they don't have legs. Like a Beholder. Does he just hover in place?

He does a capering dance. After all, there is more to a dance than just the legs. In the case of the beholder, I see the eyes doing awesome stuff in my mind canon.


RAW, the spell says: "creatures that can't be charged are immune to the spell." So, there is no requirement that the creature have legs or anything else.

One more thing. After the first round. Can the creature choose to attack with disadvantage or cast a spell and not even make a save to stop dancing?

Yep but it does take an action to attempt a save.

Whoops, never mind.

Edit: I parsed "As an action, a dancing creature makes a Wisdom saving throw to regain control of itself" as being a mandatory action but I believe it's just explaining how to break the effect.

Note that if the beholder has feet, like in a bag, it has to tap them and shuffle them around.
