As I continue to convert my 25/28/30+mm miniatures to predominately 15/18mm size (sometimes, okay usually, incorrectly referred to as “scale” figures,) along with my 3mm aircraft and some 6mm mass armies, I think of D&D, where I have yet to take advantage of the excellent lines of Tom Meier and other sculptors 15/18mm fantasy figures. See Khurasan Miniatures for some of Meier’s gems! I mean the rules seem miniatures size independent if ToTM is any meaning.
Does anyone besides myself have visions of 15/18mm D&D gaming? I look at my Rebel Minis, Splintered Light miniatures, Battle Valor LLC miniatures and the above Khurasan lines the desire to game with smaller figures seems much more achievable as I approach 70 (2020) then in my forties... And dungeon terrain for these sizes already exists!

*madly scribbling stick figures on card stock and sticking them in binder clips*
Huh?

These are the driving force.

Ok those are pretty slick. Not my bag but slick.
As far as different scales for DND, I've gone smaller to a 1 CM grid for large scale never thought about going the other way.

I have some 15/18mm Splintered Light minis I use for tiny/small creatures alongside my standard 28mm figures. I own too much 28mm to use 15/18mm as anything but supplemental though, plus other people at the table want to use their own 28mm figures. Plus the vast amount of 28mm available versus a handful of people doing 15/18mm fantasy with limited selections.

Not a bad source! Some of the oversize ones might even come in handy next to regular scale mini's. I probably won't change over hanks to my investment in maps and mini's but its a real alternative.

Actually there are more than a few I see. Maybe I should have listed the multiple non-American fantasy miniatures sources out there like Essex, Peter Pig I believe, and others that I seldom consider but have a good history.
And a lot more selection than 6mm with about 5 that I know of or 10mm with Few less but the biggest challenge would be the distinctly D&D non-humanoid monsters. I grant you that proxies might be needed.
