View Full Version : DnD Sessions you'd eat a puppy to see...

I saw a thread like this a long time ago, and have decided to revive it, just for kicks. The basic premise is this- Who would you think the best DnD group ever would consist of? Fictional, historical, and actual characters all apply, be it Darth Vader or the guy next door, along with a DM. For example:

Cheerleader
So and So
What's her face
The Ugly One
DM: Strong Bad
Session Theme: Epic Space Opera

Of course, Party roles and session theme are optional.,,

Minsc (And Boo), My char, a will&word sorc, a master cat burglar (with a penchant for catgirl burglary. Forgive me for the bad joke), and as a DM, Silverclawshift's DM.

Well it depends. Is the puppy mechanical in any way?

No, it is the bad kind of puppy.

I'd love to play in a game run by Gary Gygax. Or, failing that, I'd like to play with the Knights of the Dinner Table. Brian's my kind of guy.

I'd like to game with Brian Clevinger, Tim Buckley, Mookie, and Milholland. But that's just me.

Oh, and I'll take the data file.

Seeing all those bard groups gave me an idea. Guns 'n roses, Paradise city. which city would be the one referenced? sigil, union, greyhawk, or something else?

I'd say Sigil, except there's not much grass there to be described as green. Plenty of pretty girls, though.

Also, as long as we're referencing Futurama: the quadrillion-year D&D marathon featuring Gygax as DM, and Fry, Nichelle Nichols, Stephen Hawking, Deep Blue, and Al Gore as players.

"I'm a tenth-level Vice President!"

The psycho GM session.

But I wouldn't eat a puppy, but under less extreme circumstances, yeah.

A game run by Terry Pratchett.

Wraith
2007-10-20, 05:51 AM
Terry Pratchett as DM is a good choice. If not him, then Neil Gaiman in the Big Chair with Terry playing would also be a great experience.

DM: Neil Gaiman
Wizard: Terry Pratchett
Rogue: Bill Bailey (English comedian)
Fighter: Bruce Campbell
Cleric: Bill Hicks

I was tempted to add Jackie Chan as the party Monk, but that seemed a bit excessive :smallamused:

A game run by Tolkien.

With George R. R. Martin, Michael Moorcock, H. P. Lovecraft, Stephen Donaldson and Robert E. Howard as players.

I think that would be... epic.

Quoted for truth. I'd like to see Roger Zelazny in there, though. Or, failing him, his reincarnation, Jim Butcher. Or, y'know. Both.

Might get a little crowded with seven players. But Tolkien could handle it.

A game with Cristhpher Walken as the DM.

Players:
Dure Nukem
Arnold Schwarnegger
Joseph Stalin
Captain America
Chuck Norris
Bruce Lee.

RamrodTheWizard

DM: Neil Gaiman or George RR Martin
They'd make almost opposite games, but both would be equally awesome.

PCs:
Whichever of those two aren't the DM
Myself (obviously)
Gary Gygax, I wouldn't want him to DM but I'd like to game with him
Dustin Hoffman
Steven Colbert

Pretty much any of them.

'Course, I've eaten puppies before (in Korea), so it's not that big a deal.

Chronos

I'd say Sigil, except there's not much grass there to be described as green. Plenty of pretty girls, though.Ever since seeing that one Star Trek movie that had a colony outpost called "paradise city", I've always remembered that line as "...Where the girls are green and the sand is pretty". Which could probably also work in a lot of D&D settings.

StickMan
2007-10-20, 11:43 AM
Gary Gygax, Myself, Robin Williams, Vin Diesel, Stephen Colbert, Mike Myers.

Yes they all play.

I tried a few thought experiments, and my two top groups included a total of two females. Looks like the other entries include very few as well. Why?

/and one of the two females was chosen for sheer horror.
//I like her and all, but can you imagine Ayn Rand as DM?

No one wants to be the guy who says "My dream group is a group of scantilly-clad cheerleaders, who role-play grappling with me as the DM and who pvp at the same time as fighting monsters" cause that would be perverted? that's why I did'nt post it...er...before this that is

In this case you have to swallow the puppy whole and alive. It's a small puppy, but still... I made a special "Bag of Tricks" that only produces puppies and kittens just for this occasion!

Oh, well in that case...

A group of, oh, say a dozen nymphomanical cheerleader LARPers, all playing Disciples of Aaluran from the BoEF.

...what? I have PRIORITIES, dammit!

Any D&D session ever. Because puppies are delicious.

But the best D7D session I can imagine? Maybe...

Monte Cook
Keith Baker
Ed Greenwood
Dave Arneson
and, DMing... Gary Gygax.

Or Monte Cook DMing. Or Keith Baker DMing Ebberon. Or Ed Greenwood DMing the Forgotten Realms. Either way, it would be one hell of a session.

Why do people want to play with Stephen Colbert? You know he's just going to play a thief and backstab you.

And props to the person who put Schwarzenegger.

True that. I'd personally disembowel, skin, cook, and eat a backpack full of puppies to see that.

Oberon

I don't know if I'd eat puppies to see this, but a girl from our group had a dream about playing DnD with some of our regualrs as well as Bruce Willis, Kiefer Sutherland, and the lead singer from Nickelback. As far as I know, she doesn't find any of these men attractive in any way, so I don't know where it came from, but the interactions were pretty funny, even 2nd hand.

DM: Tim Burton or M. Night Shyamalan

Quentin Tarentino
Robert Englund
Johnny Depp
Clive Owen

And if I could be IN that D&D session... I'd kick a baby to do it.

Richard: So... a quest to find artifacts that grant the wielder 9th level AoEs at will?
George: A-yup.
Richard: ...
George: What?
[/tongue in cheek]

I'd love to play a game in which all these celebs who claim to be players actually put their money where their mouths are.

All the major figures from the world religions playing DnD. Jesus, Buddha, Muhammed, Abraham, etc. That'd be... epic.

Can you say fudged dice-rolls?
