Is anyone else here a fan of the Showtime series and the books that spawned it (Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter, and now Dexter in the Dark)?

It's a pretty good show, and surprisingly I like the TV series more then the books.

Actually, so do I. The TV series does a much better job of fleshing out the secondary characters.

The first two books are still good reading, though.

I haven't read the books yet, but I'm really enjoying the series. As you said, all the characters are really well defined. There's something weirdly cathartic about watching horrible people die horribly.

Definitely. It's always nice to see bad guys get their comeuppance. Although, has anyone else noticed that since the Ice Truck Killer, Dexter has been striking the killing blow differently?

I mean... it seems to me that he used to hit the victim in the neck with his power saw first... recently he's been stabbing them in the chest.

It's like he's doing it how Brian wanted him to kill Deb.
