Considering both Noble Djinn and Efreeti can both grant 3 wish if trapped via Planar binding, wouldn't it generally be better to bind the Noble Djinn since Efreeti are specifically called out in their write up as having a hatred of servitude and desire for revenge?

Even if the character in question is Lawful Evil, unless he specifically wishes for something that is evil the Djinni having no way to detect alignments wouldn't even know.

Thoughts?

Noble djinn aren't a specific kind of creature, but rather a subset of djinn, so you'd basically need to luck out to get a noble djinn. Since it's actually codified what the portion is, 1%, each time you bind a djinn, you should be rolling to see if it's noble or not.

Because of that, efreeti are simply a more reliable method of achieving it, though I suppose, if you've got a lot of time and spell slots on your hands, there's no reason why you couldn't just keep trying for a noble djinn until you luck out.

Bear in mind that you can call a specific creature if you know its name, so if you don't get a noble djinn on your first try, you can just ask the djinn to tell you the name of a noble (ideally one who'd be OK with you calling it) as its service.
