Hi guys, I need some help. I'm putting together a level 11 character for an upcoming campaign (it'll be short, no longer than a few sessions) and I'm putting together my first serious wizard.

Basically, what I want him to do is force the enemy into making as many saves as possible, preferably with an illusionist/necromancy flavor. While I could just go illusion specialist wizard, the idea seemed a little too mundane, so I was wondering if anybody had some more exotic build ideas they could share.

Well, there's always the Killer Gnome Mage build -Illusionist 5/Shadowcraft Mage 3/Shadowcrafter 3, throwing around spells that are more dangerous when you make your Will save...that one's fun.

Is that the build that eventually lets you cast Shadow Evocation Miracles?

I've never heard of Shadowcraft. What supplement is that from?

Shadowcraft Mage is a PrC from Races of Stone. Very good class.

As for your question, knowing what sources you have available/are allowed to use would help.

Well, that's the potential end result that even the CO people think is really cheesy and unlikely to be accepted by any reasonable DM, but yeah.

Ah, sorry.

I've got every complete currently published, every races book (doesn't mean I've read through all of them very well or remembered what was there) most of the Eberron supplements, Draconomicon, Tome of Magic, Tome of Battle, Expanded Psionics, PHB and DMG II, all of the environment books (Dungeon- and Cityscape, Stormwrack, etc...) and probably a few more that I can't remember.

honestly wizard 10/loremaster 10 is fine.

heck wizard 20 would work fine, i would check out the batman guide, i dont have a link to it.

It lists alot of the save or die/suck spells.

While I understand that wizards are uber-powerful in their own right, I don't want to play straight wizard or wizard/loremaster: I want to play something with a bit more flavor. Plus I'm looking for a level 10 character, not 20. I don't even think I would want to play in a campaign higher than level 15 anyway.

You may want to take levels in Fatespinner (C. Arcane) to be able to boost your DCs a bit.

Oooh...while I wanted to be more an avatar of darkness spewing forth words of pure arcane death, this fatespinner tastes a bit epic and creepily omniscient. That's pretty damn cool, I must say.
