So it's something that I have wondered for a bit now, but...Why are Warlocks the only casting class with an expanded spell list that they don't just have readied at all times? Paladin, Cleric, Artificer, even the Druid and Ranger subclasses that have expanded lists just have them prepared at all times and don't count them against the spells known. So is there any known reason why the Warlock is the odd class out?

Because the developers designed it that way. Unless one of them come here and give us their reasoning, we have no way of knowing.

Also, there's Divine Soul Sorcerer and bard.

Bard is more like a boosted Magic Initiate than an Expanded Spell List. And Divine Soul Sorcerer does get to keep the alignment determined spell without it counting against their spells known, unless they decide to change it in which case that spell doesn't count against the spells known.

When 5e was first made the only expanded spells were cleric, Paladin, druid, and warlock. 3 of those classes can pick their spells daily. The warlock cannot. I assume (and of course this is speculation) that is why. Plus the warlock is just so different on spell. casting in general
