Summoned/Called creatures and Fusion

So... what happens to a fused being, one created through the Fusion psionic power, if one of the creatures that makes up the fusion is meant to disappear at the end of a spell's duration? For example; if you summoned a hound archon using summon monster 5 and fused with it, does the summon monster spell's duration ending force the fusion to fail and end? Does the fusion persist until the end of it's duration, then the creature immediately poofs after the defusing? Does the summon spell's duration pause for the duration of the fusion?

Fusion has a lot of unexplored implications/interactions that you and your GM will have to simply hash out. For example, how it works with things like Astral Seed or Mind Seed has been a bone of contention for years.
