If I was running a game to where the players were sent through "plot device" that sent the to basically the Starfinder system, would the characters they have in Pathfinder, spells/skills/abilities transfer over easily? I would obviously give them the option to start taking levels in Starfinder classes and such, but I haven't looked into the system enough to know how easily it would port over like that?

There are character conversion guidelines in the CRB that are also freely available online. (https://www.aonsrd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=288) That should get you most of the way there. A community like this one or the Paizo boards can help you with more specific problems or questions once you've gone through those initial steps.

Awesome! Thanks for the info!

Just realized that wasn't the full conversion page - here is the full-length one (https://www.aonsrd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=287) which covers that whole chapter and includes class conversion guidance.

Gotcha gotcha, I wasn't thinking of converting the classes levels that they had already, I was thinking of letting them keep said abilities and then just roll into the new abilities of classes, basically like multiclassing to an extent.

That would break the system pretty hard from what I've read. Action economy works different and bonuses are much less. It'd be akin to taking a 3.5 wizard into a d20 modern game. Doesn't translate well.

^ Yeah I'd be very cautious about bringing in unmodified PF classes into a SF game especially casters. It's not just the T1/T2 full casters either - even something like a Magus or Warpriest could wreak havoc in SF due to their action economy shenanigans.

That's what I was afraid of, I'll have to look at how the conversion works and go from there.
