Does Polymorph Any affect Bane

Say you are facing someone with a [Your race] Bane weapon. Can you polymorph in to [not your race], and avoid taking bonus damage from it?
And inversely, can you polymorph someone in to [target race] in order to make them take bonus damage?

For the first, no. You retain the augmented [original type] subtype, so bane still hurts you. For the second, yes, since they now have whatever type you wanted them to have. Although you can probably use an offensive polymorph better than to turn on a bane property.
