Hi,
my ranger has different beasts, magical and not, and I want to train them to become warbeast. I readed on PH1 that it needs 1 year of train for a beast to become warbeast, it's really too much time! I thought to buy a warbeast instead of train them, but one of my beast is a Phoera, and I can't definitely buy it.

So my question is, there is a way to reduce that time?

I readed (I don't remember where) that ranger can reduce the time by half, is that true?

Thank you

one of my beast is a Phoera, and I can't definitely buy it.
There is a problem with it:
PHOERA
Medium Magical Beast (Fire)
Normally, the warbeast template can't be applied to magical beasts. (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/eo/20040409a)

Well, assume I have a wolf too, I can train the wolf

Well, firstly: there is training, and there is rearing
A warbeast can be reared and trained just as the base creature can. If the base creature is a domestic animal, the creature need not be specially reared, but it must be trained for two months (Handle Animal DC 20) to develop its abilities.
A warbeast based on a wild animal must be reared for one year (Handle Animal DC15 +HD of the warbeast), then trained for 2 months (Handle Animal DC 20 + HD of the warbeast).
...
A warbeast based on a vermin, being mindless, is untrainable.
Rear a Wild Animal (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/handleAnimal.htm): To rear an animal means to raise a wild creature from infancy so that it becomes domesticated. A handler can rear as many as three creatures of the same kind at once. A successfully domesticated animal can be taught tricks at the same time it’s being raised, or it can be taught as a domesticated animal later.

Since your Wolf is already adult (or is it?..), it just can't be reared, period.
(Unless you would resort to some strong magic)

AFAIK, there are no RAW way for shortening rearing time
PC usually be better off just straight-up buying an already reared and trained creatures

Training time - two months - can be shortened by excessively high results (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/skills.htm#handleAnimal) on Handle Animal check (bare minimum is mere 1 minute! :smallamused:)
