Wielding arrows in melee

If I wield an arrow in melee, will it be destroyed on hit?

While the above quote is somewhat open to interpretation, the safest bet by RAW is yes, even in melee, arrows are destroyed on a hit.

Otherwise, things like Slaying Arrows become extremely powerful.

Just make the arrow shafts out of aurorum or shapesand. It's easy to recombinate them after use.
