Man, shipping costs seem high anymore but maybe I remember the 90's lol.
What service do you all use to ship a couple miniatures at a time? Is $7 or $8 a 6x3x3 box about the best I will find?

Probably. I quit buying singles because the shipping was more than the figure. Then jerks started shipping in envelopes instead to save money, so that ended it for me. I only deal in bulk now, if at all.

I would use a sturdy cardboard box, plenty of cushion, and plenty of tape.
When I mail miniatures I tend to wrap them in bubble-wrap, put them into a sturdy 4x4 box, and then pad the empty space with styrofoam peanuts and/or paper towels. I make sure to tape the box with packing tape in order to reinforce it along the "exposed" sides . . . like a "H" pattern of tape on each open end.
This is when I sell individual miniatures on eBay.
