Looking for some feedback on a quick redesign of the Yuan-ti PC race using the Volo's incarnation as a starting point. Sorry for the lack of formatting and fuller descriptions. I'm looking to have a character written up using one of these by tomorrow.

Yuan-ti
ASI: +2 Cha
Size: Medium
Speed: 30ft
Languages: Common, Abyssal, Draconic
Darkvision 60'
Poison Resistance
Innate Spellcasting: Poison Spray cantrip. Animal Friendship @3rd, unlimited use but snakes only. Charisma spellcasting ability.

Pureblood:
ASI: +1 Int
Innate Spellcasting: Suggestion @5th, 1/day. Charisma spellcasting.
Magic Resistance: Add 1/2 your proficiency bonus to saving throws you are not already proficient in against spells.

Malison (Head):
ASI: +1 Str
Fangs: 1d6 + Strength Piercing unarmed attack.
Venom: Add 1d6 Poison damage to a Fang attack on a failed Con save, half on success (DC = 8 + Prof + Str). Increases to 2d6 at 5th, 3d6 at 11th, 4d6 at 17th, 1/rest.

Malison (Tail):
ASI: +1 Str
Tail: Your tail can extend 5 ft into an adjacent space but does not extend your threat range. You can perform grapple and shove attacks with your tail, leaving your hands free, but reducing your speed to 0 while grappling in this way.
Constrictor: You can use a bonus action to crush a creature you are grappling in your tail (DC 8 + prof + Str), dealing 1d4 + Str bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half on a success. Additionally, you count as one size larger for determining the size of creatures you can grapple when using your tail.

I like it. Im kinda undecided on the poison bite.
On one hand it's about cantrip level of power, but it does have half on a fail. It's also a very weak damage type and is delivered by a non magical "weapon"? Is this a normal strength weapon attack or is it a save to dodge the whole thing? Can it be used as one of the attacks in a multi attack?
I find it good at early levels and pretty bad when most things resist it... situational at best.

I'd either juice it up a bit, make them a spitting cobra like thing. See poison dragonborn breath but make it a bonus action.

Or scale it down a little.
Make it all or none (no half damage) and make it cost an entire action (single target). And it's pretty much a cantrip. I'd allow it at will in this case.

Right now it's like half way inbetween.

I like the rest tho
