Hi there. I'm currently in a campaign with another 4 players (a halfling rogue, a human ranger/fighter, an elf ranger, and a gish wizard/fighter... yep, no cleric). We started at level 3, and recently reached level 4, and I'm starting to wonder which would be the best path for my wizard.
I'm a strongheart halfling, and a specialist conjurer.
STR 6
DEX 12
CON 14
INT 19
WIS 10
CHA 10
Feats chosen so far:
Lvl 1: Collegiate wizard (I liked it, and I wanted it for my backstory)
Lvl 1, racial bonus: Improved initiative
Lvl 1, in exchange of my familiar (as a houserule): Extend spell (had to be a wizard feat, though)
Lvl 1, wizard: Scribe scroll
Lvl 3: Spell focus: Conjuration
Lvl 5: Sculpt spell (?)
I like to be on the back, and leave the killing to the other players, while I try to make the battle easier for them. So far, it's been good, but now I'm doubting again about what to go for in long term. For prestige classes, the sources we can work with are: PH, PH2, DMG, PGtF, Complete Arcane, Adventurer, Divine and Warrior. Nothing more. Not sure how much will this campaign last, though. It might be until level 20, or until level 10.
I've been thinking about going Wizard 7 > Fatespinner 4 > Wizard 9 > Archmage 5
Another option that has crossed my mind is: Wizard 7 > Fatespinner 4 > Loremaster 9
Finally, an even more simple one: Wizard 7 > Loremaster ? > ?
I'd have loved to go with Mage of the Arcane Order, but my DM told me that, story wise, it was going to be somewhat odd, so I better went with another choice. Not sure if there's any prestige class that can suit my character and allows me to start prestige classing after level 5, instead of forcing me to go up to wizard leve 7.
Any advice on which path should I choose?
