I'm planning a 3.5e campaign, and I've decided that the craft and merchant functions of a big city will be controlled by the Church of Ilmater (they're taking on the suffering of the city's laborers as a sort of union). I found the Merchant Prince class while trying to plan the sect's leader, but it seems designed around bards and making profit. What class would be good at organizing and protecting a labor force in a big fantasy city, and how would you blend it into Cleric?
