Replacing Class Levels in 3.5

Simple yet complicated question, is there a way within 3.5 that you can swap out class levels? I know there are ways to do it with feats and such, but what about class levels? Is there an in game mechanic. I know it will probably need DM approval, but is there a mechanic that will allow it?

I believe retraining is in the PHB2. But there IS a mechanic for this.

Another (much more dangerous) option involves being level-drained, then taking your chances to get the Comet, Jester, or Sun from the Deck of Many Things. (Note: do not actually try this).

tought bottle and getting level drained should work for the last level, since xp rules should also apply to this
