Throwing the search for throwing rules

So i'm putting together some stuff for upcoming sessions, when i realized i can't find the rules for throwing items like calltrops or ball bearings, most importantly how far you can throw something. I know jumping has rules based on Strength, so i would expect something similar, but i can't find it in my PHB. Anyone know if there are rules for it, and if so, where?

Think those are adjacent space. no official rules though.
-just call it like regular throwing weapons (accurately between 0-20ft, but requires a roll 21-60ft)
