So, ive heard someone in my group talking about a "witch queen" class and how it was a "legendary" class, but i am not sure where to look for it since the concept piqued my interest.

all i know is its a 5-level PrC. and as a dm it would be nice to know what material people are talking about should it come up in play at some point. If anyone would know what book or source to find this prc it would be appreciated.

They might be talking about the Dread Witch class (from Heroes of Horror). It's a 5-level PrC centered around debuffing, specifically Fear effects, and can put status effects on things that are normally immune to Fear.

EDIT: Apparently there's also a "Queen of Witches" PrC (5-levels) here (http://theotherside.timsbrannan.com/2012/02/prestige-class-queen-of-witches.html). Looks like it's OGL, third-party.

I cannot find a first-party PrC by the name of "witch queen" anywhere. Furthermore, I couldn't even find it in some of the more popular 3rd party material. First-party, I can think of two classes that would fit the bill of a powerful witch-themed class: Dread Witch and Hathran. Dread Witch is a 5-level PrC from Heroes of Horror that is popular in fear-based builds. Hathran is a very powerful 10 level PrC from the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, which involves progressing through the ranks of the Witches of Rasheman. Among other things, the Hathran gains the ability to spontaneously cast any known spell by sacrificing a prepared spell of same level, so long as they are on Rasheman soil (a generous reading of the Acorn of Far Travel spell would imply that a Hathran possessing one would be considered to always be on Rasheman soil).

TBH, if a player wants to use any obscure material in a game you're running (whether it's from a first party or third party source), it's their responsibility to okay it with you beforehand.

well ive done a little bit of looking on my end, and i found a small refrence to it on minmax fourms:

but im not sure what the listed abbreviation means. its obviously not the Players handbook or planar handbook. (and no, im aware of dread witch class.)

this is more that the topic of the class piqued my interest and i wanted to look it up.

Legend and lairs has a set of books with legendary classes in them, they are a special kind of prestige class that have cool ( and supposed to be difficult) RP requisites.

I do not have my book right now, but the Path Of Magic would most likely have the Witch Queen legendary class

Ph - okay, I think I found the source but can't verify it. The same list also has a "Douse of Flame and Hate" listed as Ph 147. Googling that phrase shows it as referring to Polyhedron magazine. It was a publication for the RPGA, but was acquired by Paizo in 2002. Stopped publishing in 2005.

The other listing in the handbook is "Knight of Holy ShieldingPh171" which is from Dungeon magazine issue 113 page 95.

Same labeling but in no way helpful.

Legends and lairs Path of magic has a wizard king legendary class but it doesn't look like what was described.

Maybe someone with a more extensive magazine knowledge?

Wiki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyhedron_(magazine)):

In September, 2002, Paizo Publishing acquired publishing rights and merged the Polyhedron magazine with the sister publication Dungeon to form a single magazine (issue 90 of Dungeon and issue 149 of Polyhedron were one and the same magazine, and this dual numbering continued throughout this period).

Might have been one of those dual-listed issues.

Found it. It's Dungeon Magazine #93/Polyhedron #152, page 14 of the Polyhedron portion (looks like the magazine was literally two separate publications mashed together for a time). It does not look balanced for normal play. Also, one of those PrCs that would basically require the entire party to go on an epic quest due to the "Special" requirement.

I really have nothing to contribute, apart from this: great detective work from the Playgrounders!

Found it.

Dungeon Magazine 93, July/August 2002. AKA Polyhedron 152.
