So, the upcoming Black Widow film got me thinking...how would you approximate Taskmaster (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taskmaster_(comics)) in D&D terms?

His main ability is that once he sees someone perform a physical task, he can replicate that task himself. Mainly combat manoeuvres. He can also predict enemies moves once he has watched them.

The only thing I can think of in D&D terms is the Mirror Move (https://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/sb/sb20000901a) spell.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Cheers - T

First couple thoughts are a Master Of Nine (for somebody who's just got waaaaaay too many moves), or maybe a ToB-focused Chameleon for some flexible feats to put into "learning" maneuvers? Neither's great...

An item of at-will (Quickened?) Heroics, maybe with a limitation that you can only use it to acquire a feat/maneuver you've just witnessed? But that's only valid via an item. I guess you could get Innate Spell (Heroics) if you were fine having Taskmaster be an epic vancian caster, but then again "an epic vancian caster could pull this off" isn't exactly original advice. :smalltongue:

Factotum into Chameleon? It gets you a fair chunk of stuff at least

Interesting "task"^^

hm, i have 2 PRCs in mind that are somewhat related to this.

1) Eternal Blade
The Blade Guide can give either an insight bonus equal to your INT bonus on attack and damage rolls against a single creature type or access to a single maneuver from either Diamond Mind or Devoted Spirit discipline (if maneuvers are a thing in your games). While this is not a straight copying of abilities, it can be fluffed as copy to some degree.

2) Chameleon
Here the fluff is already copy-themed. You can "mimic class features" and have floating bonus feat that you may reselect each day.

A dip in either one or both PRCs could be an option imho.

Spellthief is also a decent option. Not without heavy homebrew/houseruling, but it could be a base for a "Spellthief+maneuvers" build.
