I want to run a whole hell of a lot of one shots to pass the time.
Does anyone have a good list of campaigns and modules that work well for that purpose?

When I saw the thread title, my first thought was a certain kingdom with a missing princess.

Escape from Meenlock Prison (Dragon Mag, don't recall the issue)
Forge of Fury
Sunless Citadel
Pretty much anything from Kingdoms of Kalamar is doable in a session or three

Are you looking to string them together into an easy-bake campaign, or did you want to run a series of unconnected sessions with different characters each time?

Unconnected sessions, for the most part.

One-shots because… you're afraid that people will die between sessions? :smallconfused:

And, myself, I just homebrew one-shots, so I probably cannot help in this quest so let me know when the next one starts ;)

lol. Morbid. But no, people drop out of campaigns all the time. Also, one shots have near little wrap ups in a short time frame. Preferably 1 session.

You could try running the example scenarios found in a lot of books, like for example the Cult of the Angry Eye in the Lords of Madness pag.60. They have adventure hooks, a basic history, and a dungeon mapped with various encounters.

Escape from Meenlock Prison is from Dungeon Magazine #146, page 14

Is this intended to be run in real life or over something like Discord, forums, or a VTT? I'm just asking, because I wouldn't consider the average gaming table a superbly sanitary environment. :smallwink:

If you're playing Pathfinder (or are willing to do a little conversion) you could look over the Pathfinder Society scenarios (https://paizo.com/store/pathfinder/society/past) and modules (https://paizo.com/store/pathfinder/adventures/first/modules). They are designed for four (scenarios) or eight (modules) hours of play, don't expect a steady group, and exist for levels 1-12. They are, however, not free, costing 3-5 USD for the scenarios and ~10 USD for the modules. It seems currently there is a sale ongoing.

The Pallid Plague (https://paizo.com/products/btpy8bu8) is a good one.

Not a full module, but sending a group against Grobzok the Guardian (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=22884880&postcount=94) could be an amusing one-shot. Loosely based on Monte Cook's "World's Shortest Adventure." I made him for a villainous competition a few years back. He's statted out level-by-level, and could be encountered as anything from CR 4 through CR 20 enemy. The CR writeups have some suggestions for running an adventure around him.

I have to say, I can't remember the last time I laughed so much reading a single post.
