So this is an idea of how to make a theoretical Psion/Metamind which could theoretically kill anything except stuff with DR in a few rounds. I have no idea if it has already been done or if it even works since there maybe some flaws I haven't seen but here it is anyway. There's probably an easier way to kill stuff at level 20 but that doesn't matter.

Ingredients:
-Stats: Minimum 13 Wis and 16 Int
-Build: Psion (Nomad) 6 / Metamind 10 / Psion 4
-Powers: Ectoplasmic Shambler, Temporal Reiteration, Temporal Acceleration
-At level 12 and 14 take Ectoplasmic Shambler and Temporal Reiteration, at level 16 take Temporal Acceleration.
-Feats: Psicrystal Affinity, Psionic Meditation, Twin Power, Practiced Manifester, Midnight Augmentation, Azure Talent, Bonus Essentia

If Shape Souldmeld feat counts as being able to shape soulmelds than Azure Talent should be replaced by it.
I'll be assuming Midnight Augmentation reduces the power point cost to augment and Temporal Acceleration can be extended if cast in the last round of its effect.

Method:
Round 0: Invest 3 Essentia in Midnight Augmentation for Temporal Acceleration
Round 1: Activate Font of Power and manifest Temporal Acceleration for 9 rounds along with a twinned Ectoplasmic Shambler at the desired location and Temporal Reiteration to extend Font of Power
(Round) 2,4,6,8 : Manifest Temporal Reiteration and another power of your choice, use move action to regain PsiFocus
(Round) 3,5,7: Manifest twinned Ectoplasmic Shambler and Temporal Reiteration
(Round) 9: Manifest Temporal Acceleration and repeat rounds (2-9)
After around 40 cycles, not more to avoid Shamblers disappearing there should be more than 150 Ectoplasmic Shamblers, dealing in total more than 1000 type-less damage in it's area each round for a few rounds until Shamblers start disappearing. I might have messed something up with the maths though.

So my question is, does this actually work and if it does how can it be optimized?

I like it. Bit weird that it's defeated by wind, given that it's astral stuff, but hey, you can always place your shamblers upwind from your target.

The most obvious addition you could make would be to use a Dominant Ideal ardent to reduce metapsionic costs, crucially including the psionic focus expenditure for metapsionics applied to powers from your chosen mantle. If you can get synchronicity in your Dominant Ideal, you can explode your number of actions per round with a Linked Power/Twinned Power loop (i.e. Twinned synchronicity Linked Twinned synchronicity ... Linked Twinned synchronicity).

If you have clones or allies who can manifest ectoplasmic shambler, an affinity field should let them share your synchronicities.

One big advantage of a synchronicity loop is that you can spend a certain number of pp getting additional actions the next round, and then spend those actions (and more pp) getting more actions, and so on until you have, say, 30 standard actions going into your minute of free manifesting. That way, you can get more out of that limited window where everything's awesome.

As an aside, why go Psion instead of Ardent for this build since Metamind has half manifesting?

The problem with metamind is that you actually lose power points compared to a straight psion, despite the idea being that you'd have a lower manifester level and more pp to fuel your lower level powers with.

Either use the metamind fix in Hyperconscious (or various other places), or take three levels in illithid savant to grab the capstone, instead of ten in metamind (five of which are useless).

Alternately, houserule the metamind to be 7 or 8/10 manifesting and give it a LOT of additional benefits to make up for the loss. At least then it wouldn't utterly neuter your manifesting.

Well with Temporal Reiteration you can extend Font of Power indefinitely, as long as you aren't deprived of swift actions you have an infinite amount of power points. PF Metamind is a bit better with 7/10 Manifesting and loses no power points. Ardent is nice but the problem is getting the powers, Temporal Reiteration could be put in to the Time Mantle but Ectoplasmic Shambler doesn't really fit anywhere and getting the powers with Expanded Knowledge means you would have to get rid of Twin Power halving the damage output.

Then you won't use up your actions each round on manifesting it.

Problem is that with the (un)hallow effect it requires DM cooperation since it's a power and none of the spells available have similar effects. Acorn of Far Travel + (Un)Hallow also needs another character with at least nine levels in druid. Temporal Reiteration only uses swift actions which in this strategy aren't used at all except for this.
