SUBPSIONIC OPTIONS
What are subpsionics you may ask? In short, they are psionics rooted in the subconscious mind, the id, the shadow self. In the Forgotten Realms, they subconscious mind has a direct link to the shadow weave.
Functionally, it is shadow magic of the mind, often rooted in the schools of Enchantment, Illusion, and Necromancy. While I'd love to do more with it in 5e, the best I can do for the moment is offer these feats and a Subclass Variant, and the knowledge that it exists as a concept.

Shadow Mind
Prerequisite: Psionic Talent feature or Wild Talent Feat

Your psionic powers become integrated with your subconscious mind, tapping into your shadow aspect. You gain the following benefits:

Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
You learn the Minor Illusion cantrip. You can cast it without somatic or material components, and if you choose to create an image you can use the shadow of a creature or object in range to create the image. An object or image created in this way must occupy a space within 5 feet of where the target shadow was. If the illusion is disbelieved then it becomes obvious the object created is made from shadow. If you already know this spell, its range increases by 30 feet when you cast it. Its spellcasting ability is the ability increased by this feat.
If your Psionic Talent die is available, you can cast the Darkness spell, requiring no components. If you cast it this way, you can see through the darkness created by the spell. When you start casting the spell, your Psionic Talent die decreases by one die size. Your spellcasting ability for the spell is increased by this feat.

Insidious Thoughts
Prerequisite: Psionic Talent feature or Wild Talent Feat

Your psionic powers become integrated with your subconscious mind, tapping into the destructive nature of the id. You gain the following benefits:

Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
You learn the Mind Sliver cantrip. You can cast it without verbal components, If you already know this spell, its range increases by 30 feet when you cast it. Its spellcasting ability is the ability increased by this feat.
If your Psionic Talent die is available, you can cast the Hex spell, requiring no components. When you start casting the spell, your Psionic Talent die decreases by one die size. Your spellcasting ability for the spell is increased by this feat.

Sorcerer: Subpsionic Soul
This subclass variant is identical to the Psionic Soul except in two respects; You may pick from or roll on the Shadow Sorcerer Quirks table, and you gain Subpsionic Discovery in place of Psionic Discovery.

Subpsionic Discovery. You can unlock the ability to cast a sorcerer spell you don’t already know, drawn from the darkest recesses of your psyche. After meditating for 10 minutes (which can be done during a rest), roll your Psionic Talent die, and choose a sorcerer spell of a level for which you have spell slots and that is in the school of illusion or necromancy. You know the chosen spell for a number of hours equal to the number you rolled. This replaces the Psionic Discovery option of Psionic Talent.
