Misty Step while Riding a Broom of Flying

If a Wizard is riding a Broom of Flying and casts Misty Step to teleport out of the grasp (grapple) of a flying demon, does the broom come with them?
My thinking is that since the broom acts like a mount it doesn't move with the wizard but I'm not sure.

DM's call, really. I could argue it either way. Since it isn't a living creature and can only do as you direct, and doesn't get its own actions, I would rule it goes with you, but...that really is up to your DM.

Whenever my wizard was grappled the foe pulled him off the broom.(well shovel technically but same stats) So no it doesn’t go with.
