If I'm naturally immune to acid (half-dragon) and a black dragon breaths on me is my gear effected or is it also considered "immune"?

I don't think your immunity extends to your equipment. However (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicOverview/spellDescriptions.htm#itemsSurvivingafteraSavingTh row), equipment is normally only affected if you roll a natural 1 on your saving throw, and even then only one item is damaged.

Ok. Didn't think so. Another question/example would be if I fell into a vat of acid? I'm guessing everything (except me) would need a check individually?

Yeah, a vat of acid isn't a magical attack, so the rules I linked to before wouldn't apply. If the vat of acid allowed a saving throw of some sort (which they normally don't, but this is a hypothetical so anything goes), your equipment would be able to use your saves, since they are attended objects (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/exploration.htm#savingThrows).
