Simple enough question, does Savage Attacker work with Monks? Savage attacker specifically says...

Once per turn when you roll damage for a melee weapon attack, you can reroll the weapon's damage dice and use either total.
...but if you're using the Monk damage dice because it's higher, does that become your weapon's damage dice or is it still whatever it was before hand?
(ie, a sickle's 1d4 instead of monk's 1d6)

I know monk things are somewhat special, like you can't sneak attack with a monk weapon unless it specifically has the Finesse property or is Ranged, but am curious about this combo.

You would use the martial arts weapon die because it explicitly replaces the normal weapon damage dice. Saying that, IMO salvage attack is not worth it for monks.

Plus savage attacker is better with swing-ier dice (bigger equals better). The feat, while still a mathematical improvement to damage, is a bit of a wasted ASI for small dice attackers, and you'll get a more reliable damage increase from stats alone.
