How to Toggle Arcane Spellsurge

Arcane spellsurge is a Dragon Magic spell for Sor7/Wiz7 and Wu Jen7. It changes the casting times of most arcane spells you cast.

If you're a theurge with Alternative Source spell, you can make some of your spells divine (at prep time, anyway) to better benefit!

If you're a spontaneous caster, just take Invisible Spell and that will increase the casting time back to a standard action while that's active.

If you're a spontaneous caster, just take Invisible Spell and that will increase the casting time back to a standard action while that's active.

Alternatively, if you're a prepared caster, take Elder Giant Magic. Increase the cast time to 1 round, and it becomes a standard action to cast.

Spells cast unprepared via Uncanny Forethought(a great feat in it's own right) are full round actions and should be reduced to standards via spellsurge.
