any suggestion for good and free mapmaking tool?

I would like to prepare maps for worldbuilding, including a map of the whole world, but all i have is paint, or drawing by hand; i'm not sure at which of the tasks i am worse. my attempts in the past have been pretty bad.

can someone recommend me a good tool for making maps that i can download for free? thanks

Donjon has a fantasy world generator, only problem is that it autocreates everything with very few perameters if it's something specific you want to make.

https://inkarnate.com/ has a free version, and can find a lot of youtube tutorials to get started on it
