Hi, I made this base class while bored, I haven't done this before and if I mess anything up, let me know. By the way, this might be under construction for a while, so if stuff has no explanation it is probably on its way.

Hit Dice: d6

Guardian Ghost: You have gained an understanding of the other world, allowing you to control one of its patrons.
Benefit: A ghostly companion joins you in your quests, while at the same time granting you powers from beyond the void.
Same as Wizard and Sorceror familiar tables with the same abilities, minus the added magical abilities. Also, apply ghost brute* template from Libris Mortis.

Spirit Unity: You and your spirit have reached a new level of connection and are now able to share the same material body.
Benefit: You can absorb and expel your spirit into/ out of yourself at will (swift action) to grant a +2 bonus on all special affects of your guardian. eg. Ghost Brute Cat grants a +5 bonus on move silently checks.

Bonus Feats: Starting at fourth level, and at every four levels after that, a Boneyard Magician gains any one feat from the Metamagic feats from the Libris Mortis, or any one of the corpsecrafter feats from the Libris Mortis.

Control Undead 1/day You gain a deeper understanding of the spirits beyond the grave, and gain the ability to control them at will.
Benefit: Starting at fifth level, and at every five levels after that, a Boneyard Magician gains the spell like ability of Control Undead, as a free action, using its own caster level for the save DC.

Faust the VIII was a boneyard sorcerer, not a magician, and his ability allowed him to animate undead, not simply control existing ones. Also, his abilities were in addition to being a shaman, which is where his spirit unity with his lover came, not his sorcery.

In addition to the fluff differences, this class is amazingly weak! it has the progression of a bard, a familiar and a few spell-like abilities, it doesn't fit any niche, and has no spell-list.

Please read this thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61464) and make the necessary changes in order to make this a usable class. However, even then I would still be saying that this class is abnormally weak. Beef up the spellcasting, or the abilities, or some combination of the two, because at the moment this isn't at the standard power level for a PC class.

I'm still nto feeling this guy. A spell list would be nice, but right now he looks like a bard without bardic music that got a familiar and a couple uses of contol undead. More beefing!
