For those of you who are familiar with Equilibrium (https://youtu.be/TLXUn_s8nM4?t=180), and The Matrix to a lesser extent, I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a gun-fu/gun-kata style martial discipline. If there isn't one, it's my intention to at least try my hand at making my own; I'd just like to know if there's already another out there. Heck, even an incomplete version would offer a good place to start.

You could look at the resources here (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?152550-The-Archery-Resource-Thread-3-5); most ranged attack-related maneuvers are weapon-agnostic.
In particular, this (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?99529-The-Sublime-Gunslinger-s-Art-Black-Rain-Discipline&p=5471505#post5471505) and this (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?155361-Thunder-Bolt-Ranged-ToB-Discipline) seems like what you're looking for.

Here: Black Rain (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DjR1aKrhSFdhGt_X9Ld_oNXB-w0tHHEgr9V0i_W26T0/edit?usp=sharing)

That's an edited version of a discipline by Demented One, original version here (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?99529-The-Sublime-Gunslinger-s-Art-Black-Rain-Discipline&p=5471518#post5471518).

Unfortunately, it doesn't have many cinematic/cool action abilities, it's mostly straightforward attack effects. Do you have ideas for maneuvers that would feel more "gun fu"?

Cinematic? Something like... Dust Devil's Embrace. While in this stance, each attack you make, successful or not, creates a puff of smoke that grants you concealment until your next turn. The more attacks you make, the better your concealment. It'd be capped at... I don't know... 30 to 40 percent?

Might or might be a few useful maneuvers in this (I'm not going to read all of them to know.):

There's some pretty good stuff in there. Thanks Draco.

Sorry for the double post, but I have a question.

Is it alright for an ability to have modular area? What I mean is... let's say you have an attack in a 60 ft line. Would it be alright if you could change the dimensions of that attack, like the hands of a clock? 30 ft line at 9 o'clock and 30 ft line at 6 o'clock? I've never seen anything like that, but let me know if it's already a thing.

Something like this seems really appropriate for a discipline meant to imitate Equilibrium.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, you could even do two 30 ft parallel lines.

Yeah that sounds cool. For expressing it in a compressed way you could even use degrees. That makes it work for both hex and square grids.

More inventive stuff is what the existing disciplines are missing. Will you post any maneuvers you come up with?

Creative designs are good. It might turn out great, it could even be terrible, but if it is terrible it will be terrible in a new enough way that we (including and especially you) will learn something from it.

I do plan on posting it, though I'll be cribbing some (much) from The Demented One's Black Rain discipline. It was REALLY close to what I wanted, but too gunslinger-y, rather than gun-kata-y.

Something like this for example.

Warning Shot [Fear]
Ebon Lotus (Strike)
Initiation: Standard Action
Range: Firearm attack
Primary Target: One creature
Secondary Targets: Those within 10 feet of the first target
Save: Will Negates

"That was a warning shot."
"He's dead!"
"That was a warning shot."

As part of this maneuver, make a single ranged attack with a -4 penalty. If your attack misses, the primary target is Shaken during its next turn unless they succeed on a Will save. If your attack hits despite the penalty, the target and all of its allies within 10 feet are Shaken until their next turns. A successful Will save negates this effect, but your primary target does not get a save. This is a mind-affecting fear effect.

If your attack misses, the primary target is Shaken during its next turn unless they succeed on a Will save.
You sure you don't mean "until the end of their next turn"? Or did you want the fear to take a split second to sink in? In case you forgot: Shaken applies to saving throws among other things, so it does make a difference.

Until the end of their next turn. Thanks.

As a matter of fact, I think I'll throw one last little bit in there.

If the damage from this strike reduces your primary target's hit points to 0 or lower, their allies do not get a save.

Or should that be -1 to show that they're dying?
