So I was thinking; what if we allowed Sorcerers to spend Sorcery points to upcast spells up to the lower spell level available to the Sorcerer, or the 5th level.
The cost would just be the increase in upcast. So a 2nd level spell upcast to the 4th level would cost a 2nd level slot and 2 Sorcery points.
The goal of this is to keep low level slots appealing, as well as add flexibility to the sorcerer casting.
This new feature could be either gained free at the 3rd sorcerer level, or maybe could be a new kind of Metamagic?
