Trying to choose a dragon type to use as a character's ancestor. Must be non-epic, and The character already has water-breathing and lightning. Which has more practical uses, fire, or acid? Other suggestions are welcome.

Steel Dragon (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mm/20040328a) has acid breath/acid immunity and alternate form (for access to humanoid forms).

Does the character have a personality more in line with a Brass or Copper Dragon? Or Blue or Black if evil.

Thematically, I'd say the Bronze Dragon fits a lot.

Th character's base class is dragon shaman using a bronze dragon as the totem dragon. I'm trying to add to the current abilities with a different race of dragon as the draconic ancestor

The two dragons I am mainly considering are steel and gold, and the character is a human with a draconic ancestor who is currently a level one dragon shaman and a level one bard, going for dragon disciple prestige class, possibly mixed with some levels in the draconic racial class.

Pick dragonwrought kobold as a dragon ancestor?
(Might or might not be possible but is nearly guaranteed to annoy your gm)

Not sure I want to annoy him, because 1. He's great, and 2. He seems to have absorbed my dad's ability to annoy me endlessly after meeting him twice, and 3. I kinda like my current character, and the vengeance of the gods knows no bounds.
