View Full Version : He just got down the mountain, but..

Didn't it take weeks and weeks for him to climb up? Did he just waste a few more weeks trying to get down or..
Did he jump? If he did that, would he re-die? (Since apperantly they can die by unnatural causes in Celestia.)

He jumped? ;)

But I guess when you do not have to care about broken legs, no food, no tiredness, you could go down a mountain much faster than up... even without jumping. It surely may have taken a day or two...

Maybe walking down is easier. Just run down. If you trip, you'll roll down a bit, but won't really get hurt, as Ancalagon said.

revolving doors anyone ?

He probably just jumped, and the masses of vaguely corporeal archons, semi-transient spirits, and mentally fabricated clouds cushioned his fall.

Or his archon found him the nearest revolving door, as said above.

It's always easier going downhill than uphill. We also don't know how difficult the climb was, since we didn't see most of it--it might actually only be a few miles in a straight line!

I suppose that when Roy arrives to a one level of the Mountain for the first time, he can exit and come back to that level inmediatly

Maybe there's a celestial zip-line, just off-panel.

Also, aside from the Snarl, we haven't seen evidence that souls can die of unnatural causes in Celestia. The evil adventuring party was still corporeal.

Yeah I got the impression that the revolving door was there exactly for that. I doubt it took him more then one day to get back because, even if he coudnt use the revolving for some reasons, he would have just jumped. I mean, he is dead and falling damage were already ridiculous back when he was alive so...

It's a metaphorical journey as much as a physical one. With no appropriate metaphor for the descent, the trip down may require no time at all, nor would the trip back to the first level require time.

or maybe he got some kinda fast travel service.

What I want to know is, does this stop him from getting back up?

Remember the revolving door? I doubt that this will stop him from getting back up. When the knight guy was asked how long he would be staying, he said: "Only untill morning, Old Chap!" This implies that he can get onto the mountain instantly, and not have to spend his one day there climbing.

Now you're thinking with Portals...

To reference another thread:

He just went down a level, it should be easy to get back.

He took the elevator. They had to uninstall the esculators but the secret elevator THAT YOU MUST NEVER TELL THE MONKS ABOUT works perfectly fine.

Absolutely not. Horace traveled down on the mountain to see Roy, he can certainly go back up. Why would going off the mountain be much different? If you can go up the mountain, leave the celestial plane altogether by being ressed, then go back up in a revolving door, what's wrong with stepping down a level to check out the mortal plane?

He found the short cut :smallwink:

He probably ran and slid down the mountain. Quickly. It would be the fastest way to get there, as the mountain's slope does not allow for jumping to be a legitimate solution.

"He came all the way back down from the third level to see you"
In reference to Horace.

Take that for what you will.

Revolving doors FTW, and what's with the portal reference?

He still has his glowy ball. If he couldn't go back in, he'd likely have lost it.

Um his "glowy ball" said it took him NINE days to get back down the mountain....

As for the lantern archon -- I think they are more spies than anything else.

How's he going to face Xykon now anyway? I'm pretty sure he just went down a LOT of levels.

Wasn't he on the first level to begin with when he went down?

I think that causes a constitution loss or something.

He just went down in levels to scry, so he's just level drained. He can go back up those levels before he gets rezzed.

Or, he could go up some more levels to granpa greenhilt's, so he's an even higher level when he gets rezzed.

It's quite simple. The steeper the 'climb, the easier it is to go down, and the harder it is to go up.

This is obviously a steep climb. (8 weeks up)

So it makes sense that it takes only 9 days to get down.

Will he have the constitution to get back up?

Although as he gets nearer, his con will be restored.

Also, how is he going to go up 3 levels to learn his granpa's feats? Shouldn't he learn them on the way?
